| Obverse description | The central vignette reproduces the earliest known map of Amsterdam, an aerial view painted in 1538 and attributed to Cornelis Anthonisz, grandson of Jacob Cornelisz van Oostsanen, rendered in a detailed cartographic style. At the upper portion, the city coat of arms is accompanied by the personal motto of Feike de Boer — post-liberation mayor of Amsterdam — translatable as 'heroic, determined, merciful.' Inscriptions identify the note as a 2024 Eurosouvenir issue commemorating the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam's founding in 1272. |
