The EuroSouvenir program was launched in 2015 as a licensed collector item sold at tourist sites across Europe — these notes carry no legal tender status anywhere, but they are printed to banknote specification by Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the firms that produces actual circulating euro notes for several member states. That's not incidental: the program's credibility depends entirely on the notes being physically indistinguishable in quality from real currency, which is why the hologram stripe is genuine security-grade production rather than a foil sticker.
The Castelo de Santa Maria da Feira, a medieval fortress in northern Portugal near Aveiro, is one of the better-preserved Romanesque castles on the Iberian Peninsula, with documented occupation dating to the eleventh century.
