The zero-euro souvenir note program launched in 2015 under the Eurosouvenirs/UEDM umbrella, licensing the European Central Bank's security format — including genuine eurion constellation, UV-reactive ink, and a metallic strip — for commemorative issues sold at tourist sites. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the few printers authorized to reproduce those security features on non-circulating material, produced this Chantilly example in its first year of widespread rollout.

The Château de Chantilly note was among the earliest in the series. Collectors quickly learned that first-year Oberthur-printed issues had tighter registration on the security thread than later runs.
