The zero-euro souvenir note program, launched by Richard Faivre's Eurosouvenirs operation in 2015, exploits a legal quirk: the ECB prohibits reproduction of genuine euro banknotes but places no restriction on issuing denominations that do not exist. Zero is not a legal denomination, so these notes occupy a regulatory gap — printed to genuine banknote specification by Oberthur in Rennes, on cotton substrate, with real security features, yet carrying no monetary obligation whatsoever.

The Chemin de fer de la Baie de Somme is a narrow-gauge heritage railway in Picardy, one of the oldest preserved lines in France, still running steam traction on its original metre-gauge track between Saint-Valery-sur-Somme and Le Crotoy.
