EuroSouvenir's 0 Euro program launched in 2015 as a collector novelty — legal in design but worthless by definition, printed to souvenir specifications rather than circulating currency standards. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces the series under license, applying genuine security printing techniques to what is essentially a tourist keepsake. The Frankfurt Römerberg issue is one of hundreds of site-specific notes released through the scheme, sold at the location rather than issued through any banking channel.
