The Gasometer Oberhausen is a decommissioned gas storage vessel built in 1929 that now functions as one of Germany's larger exhibition spaces — its interior volume made it practical for large-scale art installations that conventional galleries cannot accommodate. The zero-denomination souvenir format was pioneered by the ESBA as a collector vehicle with no legal tender status, printed to genuine banknote standards by Oberthur to satisfy the market for technically credible memorabilia. This note was issued for the Gasometer's own retail operation as a site-specific edition.
