The 0 Euro souvenir note program, managed under license from the European Central Bank, has been running since 2015 and is printed exclusively by a handful of ECB-approved security printers — Oberthur Fiduciaire among them. These are genuine banknote-grade paper issues with all the expected security features, legally denominated at zero and thus not subject to the monetary regulations that govern circulating euro notes.
Karel Treybal (1898–1942) was a Czech painter and illustrator executed by the Nazis at Mauthausen. The choice of subject by CZAP is pointed — Treybal was a significant figure in early Czech commercial art and magazine illustration, yet remains little known outside specialist circles.
