Kazimierz Kmiecik is one of the most decorated Polish volleyball players of the twentieth century — a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the Polish national team in 1976 and 1980, and a key figure in the dominant run that made Poland a global force in the sport during that decade. The note was issued through the EuroSouvenir program for the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw, one of the more active Polish institutions in commissioning these collector pieces.
