Comments

The EuroSouvenir program launched in 2015 as a licensed collector note scheme, producing face-valid zero-denomination pieces that comply with European Central Bank regulations specifically because they carry no monetary value. La Vallée des Singes, a primate park in the Vienne department of France, was among the early participating attractions. Oberthur Fiduciaire, who prints genuine banknotes for multiple francophone African states, produced these on genuine currency-grade paper — an unusual situation where a full-specification security printer applies its technology to a souvenir with no circulating function whatsoever.
