Eurosouvenir 0 Euro notes have been produced by Oberthur Fiduciaire since the format launched in 2015, with tourist sites across Europe commissioning individual designs through licensed distributors. Ochtinská Aragonite Cave in Slovakia's Revúca District is one of only three aragonite caves open to the public worldwide — the other two are in Mexico and Argentina — which gives this particular souvenir note more geographic specificity than most in the series.
Oberthur's involvement ensures genuine banknote-grade security features, including a watermark and security thread, which is why these sell at a premium despite carrying no legal tender status anywhere.
