EuroSouvenir 0 euro notes occupy a peculiar commercial niche — legal tender in design and security features but worth precisely nothing as currency. Oberthur Fiduciaire produces them using genuine banknote paper and intaglio printing, which means they pass a casual inspection convincingly enough that collectors and tourists alike treat them as the hybrid objects they are: souvenirs dressed in the grammar of money.
The Palais Princier has been the seat of the Grimaldi family since 1297, making it one of the oldest ruling dynasties still occupying its original residence in Europe.
