The souvenir euro program launched in 2015 under the Union Européenne des Collectionneurs de Jeton — UECJ — occupies an odd legal space: produced to the physical specifications of genuine euro banknotes and printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the continent's major security printers, yet carrying zero face value and no legal tender status anywhere. The Pointe du Raz issue was among the earliest regional titles in the series, targeting a tourist site on the westernmost tip of Brittany. Oberthur's involvement gives these pieces genuine security printing credentials — the holographic foil is production-grade, not decorative approximation.
