Reverse description Four iconic French architectural monuments are arranged across the note: the Pont du Gard, Mont Saint-Michel, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre-Dame de Paris, set against a guilloche underprint in the style of standard euro banknote reverses. A portrait vignette of the Mona Lisa appears at right. The denomination '0€' is printed at upper left.

The EuroSouvenir program launched in 2015 as a licensed scheme allowing cultural and tourist sites across Europe to issue legal-format zero-denomination notes. They carry no monetary value and were never intended for circulation — the program exists entirely in the souvenir and collector market. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the major security printers behind numerous genuine euro-area banknotes, produced this issue, which gives it a level of technical finish that purely decorative items rarely achieve.

Pope Francis was among the more commercially predictable subjects for the series, given Vatican tourism volumes.
