Euro Souvenir notes are a collector-targeted novelty series launched in 2015, licensed under a framework that permits their production as zero-denomination tokens with genuine euro security features — including holograms and microprinting — without constituting legal tender. The polymer substrate on this example marks it as part of a premium tier within the series, distinguishable from the more common paper issues. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of France's two major security printers, produced it at their Chantepie facility.

These notes have no monetary function and were sold at face retail price to tourists at the site itself — the price typically exceeding €3.
