The Waloseum is a natural history and cultural museum in Walcourt, in the Belgian province of Namur. This zero-euro souvenir note is part of the collector series that Oberthur Fiduciaire has printed for European tourist sites since around 2015 — the notes have no legal tender status anywhere but are produced to genuine banknote specification, including the EURion constellation and UV-reactive security features, which has periodically caused friction with counterfeit detection systems in retail settings.
Oberthur's involvement gives these pieces a technical authenticity that purely decorative souvenirs lack. The Waloseum itself houses archaeological finds from the Walcourt region alongside natural science collections.
