Wuppertal-Beyenburg is a small district on the eastern edge of Wuppertal, notable for the late Gothic Beyenburg monastery church — one of the better-preserved examples of that style in the Bergisches Land region. The 0 Euro souvenir note series, coordinated through the Oberthur-backed EuroBankNote distribution network, has been issuing these tourist collectibles since 2015, printing them to genuine Euro security specifications including the correct paper substrate and UV features. They are legal tender in the technical sense but were never intended for circulation and none actually circulates.

Oberthur Fiduciaire in France handles the entire production run for the series centrally, using the same security printing infrastructure it applies to sovereign currency contracts.
