CHBC — the Swiss Banknote Collectors association — commissioned this zero-franc piece from Oberthur Fiduciaire as a collector's souvenir rather than any form of circulating currency or legal tender. The Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen is a legitimate geographical claim: by volume and width, it is the largest waterfall in Europe, though that status depends on seasonal flow conditions and how you weight competing candidates in Norway and Iceland.

Oberthur's involvement is the most technically interesting detail here. One of Europe's last major security printers still producing banknote-grade paper output, their participation lends the piece production values well beyond typical souvenir ephemera.
