Abdoulaye Fadiga held the BCEAO governorship from 1975 until 1988, and his signature anchors nearly every year of this series — the rotating co-signatories on the left reflect the individual member states' ministerial nominees rather than any change in central policy. The 1989 and 1990 dates mark the transition to Alassane Ouattara as governor, before he left to serve as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire in 1990 and later, of course, its president.

Eight distinct signature combinations across a nine-year run makes this one of the more variegated series in the BCEAO catalogue for the period.
