Obverse description Central round hole surrounded by a crown above and the denomination legend encircling the hole. The Latin legend reads 'GEORGIVS REX ET IND:IMP:' along the upper periphery, with the denomination 'ONE TENTH OF A PENNY' in English and its Arabic equivalent 'عُشِر الپَنّي' inscribed around the hole in the field. The design is rendered in a clean, utilitarian style typical of British colonial coinage of the period.

Reverse description A prominent six-pointed star (hexagram) dominates the reverse field, its two overlapping equilateral triangles framing the central round hole. The issuer legend 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA' curves around the upper and lateral periphery, while the date is divided at the base of the hexagram between two raised dots. The milled border runs along the entire coin edge, giving a crisp, geometric appearance characteristic of British West African colonial issues.
