Obverse description Left-facing crowned and draped bust of King George V, modelled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupying the central field. The King is depicted wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes, with fine detail rendered in the fur trim and decorations. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy, separated from the toothed border by a fine inner rim. The portrait is rendered in high relief with strong sculptural definition characteristic of MacKennal's royal portraiture.
