| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and laurel wreath. The peripheral legend reads GEORGIUS III D.G. BRITANNIAR REX F.D. in Latin, encircling the effigy. The denomination 1/2 ACKEY TRADE and the date 1818 appear in the lower field, flanking and below the portrait. The design is attributed to engraver Thomas Halliday and reflects the neoclassical portrait style prevalent in early 19th-century British coinage. |
