| Reverse description | Central crowned shield of arms of Southern Rhodesia, divided quarterly: the upper half bearing a lion passant guardant between two thistles, and the lower half featuring a gold-mining pick surmounted by a Zimbabwe bird, all on a decorative floral ground. The shield is flanked by two scrolled supporters and surmounted by St. Edward's Crown. Royal cypher 'G VI' appears to the left of the shield and 'R I' to the right. The legend 'SOUTHERN · 1937 · RHODESIA' arcs across the upper field, while '· HALF CROWN ·' is inscribed along the lower periphery, with engraver's initials 'K' and 'G' flanking the base of the shield. |
