Obverse description The obverse is printed in tones of red-brown and pink on a guilloche underprint, with the Bahrain Monetary Agency title in Arabic at the top centre flanked by ornamental corner devices. To the left, a map of Bahrain is set within a decorated panel, while the central Bahraini state arms vignette appears below the denomination inscription نصف دينار in Arabic. To the right, an intaglio vignette of a traditional Bahraini weaver at a loom is rendered in brown, with floral column motifs at the far right edge; serial number and script signature of the Governor of the Monetary Agency appear in the lower register.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in shades of rose and brown, with the English legend BAHRAIN MONETARY AGENCY across the top border within a decorative frame. The left and central area is occupied by a detailed intaglio aerial-perspective vignette of a large industrial or governmental complex, rendered in brown. The fraction ½ appears in bold at the upper left and lower right corners, with the English inscription HALF DINAR in the lower right panel; geometric and arabesque guilloche patterns fill the remaining field.
