Reverse description The copper-nickel centre displays the fraction '1/2' rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals (١/٢) set within an ornate arabesque cartouche of intertwined floral and foliate scrollwork in high relief against a darkened field. The surrounding brass ring carries the bilingual legend 'THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN' in Latin script along the upper arc and 'HALF DINAR' along the lower arc, with the Arabic equivalent 'نصف دينار' and the dual date '١٤٢٠هـ~٢٠٠٠م' completing the inscription on the right side of the ring.

Pattern coins issued by the Central Bank of Jordan in 2000 were part of an internal evaluation process for a proposed bimetallic coinage modernization that was ultimately not adopted for circulation. KM#Pn22 is one of several denominations trialed during this period, none of which entered production in this form.
