Obverse description Central field features the ornate royal coat of arms of Great Britain displayed on an elaborately decorated shield, supported by a lion and a unicorn as heraldic supporters flanking either side, with foliate and acanthus scrollwork framing the composition. A crown surmounts the shield, and the entire device is rendered in high relief in the neoclassical style characteristic of William Wyon's engraving. The circular legend reads GEORGIVS IV D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: running around the full periphery of the coin.
