| Obverse description | Cast bronze round coin (yuan qian) with a central circular perforation. The obverse field bears four archaic Chinese seal-script characters arranged around the central hole, reading 共少半釿 (Gong Shao Ban Jin), denoting 'Half Jin cast at Gong,' with the legend distributed in two registers flanking the perforation. The characters are rendered in the angular, architectural style characteristic of Wei State coinage of the Warring States period. The surfaces show a slight slope or convexity consistent with the original casting technique. The coin exhibits an overall patina of green and reddish-brown corrosion typical of ancient Chinese bronzes. |
