Obverse description The left half of the note is dominated by an oval vignette of the Polish White Eagle coat of arms on a red field, set within an elaborate dark green ornamental frame with foliate and architectural engraved borders. To the upper right, the denomination title PÓŁ MARKI POLSKIEJ appears in bold red letterpress within a rectangular panel. Below, a text block in black letterpress carries the German Reich's guarantee declaration and the authority of the Warsaw General Government, dated Warsaw, 9 December 1916, flanked by the numeral 1/2 on each side above the year 1917, with two facsimile signatures and a central red oval seal.
