| Reverse description | Persian or Arabic legend in the Naskh script fills the field, attributed to the name 'Wallajah', the regnal title of Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah, Nawab of the Carnatic, or alternatively a reference to the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II under whose nominal suzerainty the coin was issued. The inscription is struck on an irregularly shaped flan with uneven surfaces and significant die wear, typical of provincial hammered copper issues. The overall design is simple, with the legend as the sole decorative element. |
