Obverse description Central field bearing a two-line Arabic legend within a plain rectangular cartouche, the inscription rendered in bold Naskh script. The legend references the ruling Nawab Muhammad Ali Walajah. The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the edges, characteristic of hand-struck hammered copper coinage of the Carnatic nawabs. The overall style is typical of late 18th-century Deccan copper issues struck at the Kadapa mint.
