Reverse description St. Patrick, vested as a bishop in mitre and cope and holding a crosier in his left hand, stands facing forward at center, raising a shamrock in his right hand toward a kneeling crowd of figures at left. To the right of the saint, a shield bears Roman numeral marks. The legend ECCE GREX arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the overall composition is struck in a robust but roughly executed style typical of privately issued colonial copper tokens.
