Obverse description Arabic text of the United Kingdom of Libya appears at top, with the crowned national arms within an oval guilloche vignette at left centre, flanked by wheat and palm fronds. The denomination in Arabic script occupies the central panel, with serial number printed twice — once in Arabic-Indic numerals at upper left and once in Western numerals at lower right. A fine geometric underprint fills the background throughout.

Reverse description The English-language face carries the heading UNITED KINGDOM OF LIBYA across the top, with the fraction 1/2 repeated at each corner. A large ornate guilloche rosette occupies the right portion, while a rectangular blank panel at left is framed by intricate lathe-work borders. The legal tender text and issuing authority inscription appear in a central cartouche, with the denomination HALF LIBYAN POUND in bold letterpress below.
