Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged in horizontal registers, executed in the angular Kufic script characteristic of Almoravid coinage. The legend reads the Shahada and dynastic formulae, densely packed within the small flan. The field is unbordered or enclosed within a rudimentary linear border, consistent with the informal, irregular fabric of hammered fractional silver coinage of this period. The overall execution is bold but irregular, reflecting the hand-struck nature of this diminutive denomination.
