Obverse description Central device comprising the Peruvian coat of arms, depicting three quartered fields with a vicuña, a cinchona tree, and a cornucopia, enclosed within an ornate shield. The curved legend FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION arcs around the upper periphery, translating as 'Firm and Happy through Union,' expressing the political motto of the North Peruvian state.
