| Reverse description | Jerusalem Cross composed of four equal-armed crosslets, with the quartered shield of Castile and León displayed in the four quarters — alternating castles (Castile) and rampant lions (León) — in the characteristic arrangement of Spanish Colonial macuquina coinage. The date 1659 appears partially in the field, as is typical of the cob striking method. The flan is irregularly shaped and the design shows partial strike coverage consistent with hammered cob (macuquina) production at the Lima Mint. |
