Reverse description The reverse features a central inscription in four lines reading 'HALF RUPEE 1087' within a wreath of two symmetrical laurel or floral branch sprays, tied at the base with a decorative bow. The peripheral legend in Latin script reads 'RAMA VURMA' along the upper arc and 'TRAVANCORE' along the lower arc, separated by small six-pointed stars on either side. The denomination and the regnal year expressed in the Malayalam Era calendar are thus prominently displayed. The whole design is contained within a beaded border consistent with the obverse.
