Reverse description The central field bears the denomination legend HALF RUPEE and country name INDIA arranged in three lines, separated by a horizontal rule, all set within an elaborate scrolling floral and foliate wreath of acanthus-style leaves and blossoms that fills the entire field. The date appears in the lower portion of the central panel. A beaded border runs around the inner edge of the coin, framing the ornate design. A large oval or circular Pemba countermark is applied in the lower field, obscuring part of the date.
