| Obverse description | Stylized bust facing right within a circular border, rendered in a highly schematic barbarian style characteristic of Lombard coinage. The effigy is depicted with a comb-like or feathered headdress or hair treatment shown as a series of vertical strokes, giving a striated appearance. The facial features are crude and abstracted, consistent with the devolved classical portraiture of the late 7th century Lombard series.
