Reverse description Central field displaying a three-line Arabic inscription within a plain inner border and an outer beaded border, indicating the mint city and the AH date of issue. The upper two lines read 'Struck in / Tunis' (ضرب في / تونس), with the Islamic date 1128 rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals (١١٢٨) in the lower portion of the field. The lettering is bold and somewhat crudely engraved, consistent with the irregular workmanship of a contemporary counterfeit. The design closely imitates the standard Ottoman quarter-sultani type issued for the Regency of Tunis.
