Reverse description A dolphin swimming to the right occupies the central field, its arched body rendered in low relief with the tail fin and dorsal details visible. Small pellets or exergual elements appear in the field around the creature. The Neo-Punic legend, naming the city of Abdera, is present though partially visible on the irregular flan. The design follows the maritime iconographic tradition common to Phoenician-founded coastal settlements of Hispania.
