Obverse description Central field occupied by a large six-spoked wheel, rendered in bold low relief characteristic of Etruscan aes grave casting. A pronounced central hub projects from the junction of the spokes, which radiate symmetrically to a plain raised rim. The flan is broad, thick, and irregular in outline, consistent with the primitive sand-casting technique employed by Etruscan moneyers of the early third century BC. The surface exhibits the coarse granular texture typical of this series. No legend or subsidiary devices appear in the field.
