| Reverse description | A ski jumper is depicted in mid-flight in dynamic profile, body fully extended and aerodynamically horizontal over parallel skis, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The five interlocking Olympic rings appear in the upper left of the field. The curved legend XV JUEGOS OLIMPICOS DE INVIERNO runs along the upper periphery, while CALGARY and the date 1988 are inscribed along the lower portion of the field, separated by a small dot. |

| Additional information |
Panama's commemorative program in the 1980s leaned heavily on international sporting events with no direct national connection — Panama has never sent a ski jumper to the Winter Games. The 1988 Calgary series was sold through coin dealerships and Franklin Mint-style distribution channels rather than circulated through Panamanian commerce, which is why uncirculated examples remain easy to find thirty-five years later.
