| Obverse description | The bimetallic obverse features the full national coat of arms of Panama centered within the nickel brass plated steel inner disc, displaying the quartered shield with a cornucopia, tools, crossed swords, and a sailing ship, surmounted by a harpy eagle with outstretched wings above a ribbon. Ten stars arc above the shield within the central disc. The encircling nickel plated steel outer ring bears the legend REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ along the upper arc and UN BALBOA along the lower arc, all in raised Latin lettering. The motto PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO appears on the scroll across the shield. The overall rendering is detailed and heraldically faithful to the official arms. |

The silhouette of the Panamanian Isthmus and the Panama Canal are integrated into the composition, representing both the host nation and the pilgrim's spiritual journey toward Christ through Mary.
