Reverse description The reverse displays a crude hammered design featuring a stylized symbol, possibly a simplified rendering of a balance or abstract floral motif, characteristic of the early copper cash issues of the Madras Presidency. Scattered pellets or globules are arranged in the upper field, with further abstract elements in the lower portion of the flan. The surface is irregular and shows the characteristic uneven strike of hand-hammered coinage produced at the Fort St. George mint. No legible inscription or legend is present on this face.
