Obverse description Central field bearing a bold, crudely rendered symbol resembling a stylized fish or anchor motif, characteristic of the hammered copper coinage of the Nawabdom of Carnatic. The design is executed in low relief with a broad, raised rim encircling the field. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck production methods of the period. No legend or inscription is present on this face.
