| Obverse description | At center, the circular seal of the Catawba Nation features a ceramic pot emblematic of traditional Catawba pottery, upon which appears the effigy of Chief Haigler, the celebrated 18th-century leader of the Catawba Nation. The Catawba River is depicted flowing behind the pot, evoking the tribe's ancestral homeland. The surrounding legend is arranged along the upper and lower periphery of the field. The design combines figurative and symbolic elements in a style referencing Native American artistic traditions. |
