| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as sculpted by Arnold Machin. The queen's hair is elaborately styled in soft waves beneath the tiara, with a draped neckline visible at the bust truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, with FIJI and the date 1969 inscribed along the right field. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a flat field, characteristic of Machin's acclaimed coinage designs. |
