| Reverse description | A centrally placed pineapple plant, a prominent agricultural symbol of Swaziland, depicted in fine botanical detail with elongated leaves radiating from the base and a ripe fruit crowned with a leafy tuft. The numeral 1 appears to the upper left of the plant in the field. The denomination legend CENT curves along the lower left periphery and the date 1995 appears along the lower right, both in Latin capitals, completing the circular legend arrangement. |

Mswati III's second effigy on Swazi coinage marked a deliberate updating of the king's portrait following his 1986 coronation at age 18 — the first portrait having been struck when he was still a teenager. Bronze-plated steel replaced the earlier solid bronze composition as a straightforward cost-reduction measure, a shift common across southern African minor coinage in the early 1990s as commodity prices and minting budgets diverged.
