Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Sobhuza II facing right, depicted in traditional Swazi royal attire including a beaded collar and ceremonial headdress adorned with feathers. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief, capturing the king's bearded visage with considerable sculptural detail. The legend SWAZILAND arcs along the lower periphery of the dodecagonal field.

Reverse description A centrally placed pineapple plant in full fruit occupies the field, its broad sword-like leaves radiating outward to either side in a naturalistic composition. The numeral 1 appears to the left of the plant and the word CENT curves along the lower left, with the date 1975 positioned along the lower right. The FAO motto FOOD FOR ALL is inscribed in an arc along the upper periphery, reflecting the Food and Agriculture Organization commemorative programme.
