| Obverse description | Central device depicts the national arms of Nicaragua: an equilateral triangle enclosing five volcanic peaks rising from the sea, surmounted by a radiant Cap of Liberty emitting rays of light. The triangle is set within a plain field, with the date appearing in the lower exergual area below the triangle. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters, all contained within a finely toothed border of beads. |
