Obverse description Central device depicts a stylized Mayan pyramid or stepped temple structure set within a circular inner border, representing an element of the Honduran coat of arms. The national legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS runs around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, separated from the milled rim by a beaded border. A small ornamental device appears at the base of the inner field beneath the pyramid motif.
